India Knocked Out of Women’s T20 World Cup as New Zealand Beat Pakistan to Secure Semifinal Spot

India’s Journey Ends Despite Win Over Pakistan

India’s hopes of reaching the semifinals of the Women’s T20 World Cup were dashed after New Zealand beat Pakistan by 54 runs in their final Group A match. Despite India’s victories over Pakistan and Sri Lanka earlier in the tournament, they needed Pakistan to beat New Zealand to have a chance of advancing.

New Zealand struggled initially, managing a modest 110/6 in their 20 overs. However, Pakistan’s chase unraveled quickly. Their batters collapsed, managing just 56 runs in 11.4 overs. Muneeba Ali (15 off 11) and Fatima Sana (21 off 23) were the only players to offer any resistance as New Zealand’s bowling attack dominated. With this win, New Zealand sealed their place in the semifinals for the first time since 2016, while Pakistan’s elimination also spelled the end of India’s campaign.

For India, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, the tournament saw a mix of highs and lows, including a heavy defeat by New Zealand and impressive victories against their regional rivals. However, their journey ends in disappointment as they fall short of the semifinals due to net run rate calculations and results outside their control.
